How to Write an Airbnb Listing Title That Gets More Clicks
A good Airbnb title highlights your strongest selling point, focuses on a guest benefit, and stays specific instead of generic. While writing the title, you must figure out your property’s USP. It can be a specific benefit you offer, or maybe your property location is in a great place, or there is a tourist attraction nearby. The same approach should also be reflected throughout your listing description, as explained in our Airbnb listing description examples guide.
Then make a draft and let others read and give their genuine opinion, thinking as a guest. You will get your perfect title.
Here are some important tips to keep in mind while writing the titles that would get you more clicks.
What Makes a Good Airbnb Listing Title?
Your best feature goes first, always. If it’s on line two, most guests never see it. A hot tub, a rooftop deck, a five-minute walk to the beach, whatever makes your place different belongs at the front.
Focus on the guest benefit, not just the fact. “Fast Wi-Fi” is a fact. “Remote work-ready” is a benefit. Guests book benefits, not specs.
Be specific instead of generic. “Great location” tells a guest nothing. “Two minutes from the metro” tells them everything. Use searchable keywords naturally too, since guests filter by exact terms like “pet-friendly” or “hot tub.”
Airbnb Title Character Limit
Airbnb’s real limit is 50 characters, confirmed directly in Airbnb’s own resource center, not the 32-character figure most blogs repeat.
Here’s where the confusion comes from. Fifty characters is the hard cap on desktop. Mobile screens truncate around 32 characters before the rest gets cut off, and most bookings happen on mobile. Both numbers are true. They’re just answering different questions.
Write your first 32 characters like they’re the whole title. Then use the remaining characters as a bonus for anyone still reading. Shorter titles also tend to perform better simply because every word left in a 50-character title has to earn its place.
Note one thing, you have great titles but your Airbnb listing may still not showing in searches. This is because listing performance depends on other factors like optimized description, proper SEO and so on. If you facing such an issue, fix them to get more visibility.
To stretch your characters further, standard abbreviations work fine: “BR” for bedroom, “BA” for bathroom, “mins” for minutes, “w/” for with. Don’t stack more than one or two per title, though, or it starts reading like a keyword dump instead of a sentence.
Airbnb's Official Title Best Practices
- Go with your property’s best feature. Not your city or bed count, Airbnb shows both automatically.
- Avoid ALL CAPS. Airbnb recommends lowercase, capitalizing only the first word, with exceptions for proper names and abbreviations.
- Don’t overuse punctuation. A single !, #, or * is fine, and repeating them (!!! or ***) is not allowed.
- Avoid keyword stuffing. A title crammed with every amenity reads as spam, not information.
- Don’t repeat listing details. Airbnb already shows your city, bed count, and “new” tag automatically. Repeating them wastes characters.
- Match your title to your photos. If your title says “oceanview” and your photos don’t show one, guests notice immediately.
Proven Airbnb Title Formulas
Copy any of these, fill in your own details, and you’ll have a working title in under a minute.
- [Property type] near [landmark]
- [Property type] with [standout amenity]
- [Distance] to [landmark]
- [Adjective] [property type] for [guest type]
- [Property type], [amenity] + [amenity]
- [Neighborhood or landmark] [property type]
- [Property type] near [seasonal event or activity]
- [Property type] w/ [amenity], walk to [landmark]
- [Guest type]-friendly [property type] near [feature]
- [Property type], [best feature] included
Use AI to Brainstorm Title Ideas
AI is very helpful, but only to brainstorm, such as what angle or which feature you should mention in your title that would make it different and better from others. You can ask it to research the top 5-star listing titles for you and find the pattern that works.
Also, give it all the features and description of your property to ChatGPT and ask it which would be catchy for guests, and how to organize them in your title. For research claude can help you better.
Here's a prompt you can copy directly:
“Write 10 Airbnb listing title options for a [property type] in [location]. The standout feature is [feature]. Keep each title under 50 characters, lowercase except the first word and any proper names, no emojis or repeated punctuation. Avoid generic words like beautiful, amazing, or cozy unless paired with a specific detail.”
After getting the titles, refine them, replace the usps with your unique ones, and give it a touch of your own thoughts. Also, you need to specify the details because AI doesn’t know your Wi-Fi speed, your actual walk time to the beach, or whether your “mountain view” is full or partial. You do.

Airbnb Title Ideas by Guest Type

When we optimize the listing titles, we find this common mistake in most of the titles: hosts write for multiple guests. What we do is specify the guests, such as couples, solo travellers, or large groups, then write a precise title. It keeps the tiles minimal, easy to understand, and shows 70% better result in ranking.

Airbnb House Name Ideas
Your Airbnb house name helps build your property’s identity, while your listing title is what actually earns the click in search.

Your house name is the brand identity you use on your website, your welcome cards, and word of mouth. Airbnb doesn’t require a house name, but a memorable one gives you something to build repeat bookings around.

How to Name Your Airbnb
When you are naming your Airbnb, it is not easy, and we know that because we have done this a thousand times. Because each property is different with a unique personality, and you will face tons of different guests with different requirements, by keeping in mind these two, you have to create a memorable name for your Airbnb.
How to name an Airbnb? Follow these tips coming straight from our Airbnb VAs who help everyday hosts name their Airbnb.
- Choose a memorable name. Two or three words, easy to say out loud. If it’s hard to say, it’s hard to recommend.
- Reflect your property’s personality. A rustic cabin and a modern loft shouldn’t sound the same.
- Consider your target guests. A name aimed at couples reads differently than one aimed at families.
- Use location naturally. A nearby landmark or neighborhood can anchor the name without repeating your full address.
- Build a consistent brand. Use the same name on your website, social media, and welcome materials.
- Test different naming ideas. Say a few options out loud to a friend before committing to one.
Bonus tip: Give your property a name before writing the listing title. Then naturally work that name into your Airbnb title. If guests search for it later, your listing becomes much easier to find, sometimes even above your own website.
One rule you can’t break: Airbnb’s guidelines on writing titles prohibits to use the word “Airbnb” as part of your property name or business name. Names like “Airbnb Downtown Suites” aren’t allowed. Because using “Airbnb” word can imply a partnership that doesn’t exist.
Common naming mistakes: Do not pick a name too close to a competitor’s nearby listing. This can confuses guests searching by name.

It leads with your strongest feature, focuses on a guest benefit rather than just a fact, and stays specific instead of generic. "Two minutes from the metro" beats "great location" every time.
Something short, easy to say out loud, and reflective of your property's actual personality. Avoid using "Airbnb" in the name itself, since Airbnb's trademark guidelines prohibit that directly.

No. Airbnb's own guidelines advise against emojis and symbols, since they can be confusing or mean different things to different guests around the world. Stick to simple, descriptive words instead.
Your listing title is the 50-character headline guests see in Airbnb search results. Your house name is your property's brand identity, used on your website, social media, and welcome materials. They can work together, but they do different jobs.

Whenever something real changes, like a new amenity or a seasonal shift in what guests are booking for. Beyond that, revisit it every few months to confirm it still reflects your strongest current feature.
